Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV endorses the Data protection Act (Wet tot bescherming van de persoonlijke levenssfeer ten opzichte van de verwerking van persoonsgegevens). This code of conduct is a more specific elaboration on the existing legal protection of the use of customer's personal data.

 

Purposes of the processing of personal data

The processing of data only takes place as part of an efficient and effective delivery of services, in particular aimed at the following activities:

  • The assessment and accepting of (potential) customers and the verification of agreements;
  • The execution of agreements with a customer, the analysis of personal data with the aim of increasing the number of customers, the improvement of the product and services array and the possibility to deliver services tailored to the customer's personal situation;
  • The execution of (goal-orientated) marketing activities to establish and/or maintain and/or extend customers' relationships
  • To comply with legal obligations.

 

Type of personal data

Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV only processes personal data relevant for the processing purposes.

 

Source of the personal data

The personal data processed by Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV are obtained from the customer him/herself, public databases, commercial and credit reference services and databases available within the Athlon Group.

 

Sharing of personal data

As far as this is not a result of provisions laid down by law, Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV will not share any personal data with third parties that are not part of the Athlon Group, without consent of the customer.

 

Rights

The customer has the right to request an overview of the processed personal data, the purpose of the processing as well as the source of the personal data. Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV will provide the customer with the information regarding the processing of the personal data as soon as possible, except for some exceptions determined by law.

If the provided overview demonstrates that the personal data are actually incorrect, the customer can issue a written request to correct, alter or remove the relevant personal data. Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV will inform the customer in writing, at the earliest possible time after receipt of the named request, whether or not and to which degree the application can be granted.

Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV may demand a compensation of €4.50 for any of the above named requests. The compensation needs to be settled in advance. Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV will refund the compensation if the request is rejected or after Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV has corrected, altered or removed or protected the personal data on the customer's request or the judge's order.

If Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV processes personal data in connection with commercial purposes, the customer may enter an official protest free of charge at any time. In case an official protest is entered, Athlon Car Lease Belgium NV will take measures to terminate this type of personal data processing without delay.
